Class A/B & C Operation – Underground Storage Tanks
Schrack Environmental Consulting, Inc. is now certified as a designated Class A/B & C Operator. We will create an Operations and Maintenance Plan for your facility that will assist owners and employees to operate and maintain a facility with an Underground Storage Tank (UST) by providing a plan that will serve as an outline for all inspections, testing, and maintenance. SECI will also provide directions on how to control and clean up and routine releases or spills, along with an Emergency Response Plan.
Clean Construction and Demolition Debris Sampling and Reporting
SECI has been conducting sampling and reporting for Clean Construction and Demolition Debris for large CCDD landfill operators since 2010. SECI can collect the samples from a generation site, conduct the required historical background evaluation and complete the LPC – Form 663 with the required PE certification.
Dry Cleaning Facilities Assessment and Closure
SECI has conducted numerous assessments and remediation of dry cleaning facilities in the Chicago area utilizing soil vapor extraction and in-situ chemical oxidation. SECI has installed both active and passive vapor barrier systems to address the residual contamination beneath the floors of occupied buildings.
Expert Witness Testimony
Mr. Schrack has been providing expert witness testimony services for industrial and commercial clients in Illinois since 1992. Mr. Schrack has testified in both State and Federal courts for Leaking Underground Storage Tank and Superfund Recovery cases. Leaking Underground Storage Tanks
We are a leader! SECI has been involved in the Underground Storage Tank assessment, remediation and closure process in Illinois since 1992. SECI has closed hundreds of tank sites in Illinois and has successfully guided clients through the modifications to the Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) program.
Low-Level Radioactive Waste Site Assessments
SECI has been involved with numerous sites in the City of Chicago that have been impacted by low-level radioactive waste. We have conducted detailed site investigations in conjunction with the United States Environmental Protection Agency to locate and isolate fill materials impacted with radioactive thorium waste and also prepared Remedial Action Plans outlining the removal and confirmation sampling activities necessary for development of thorium impacted sites.
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments – AAI and ASTM Compliant
SECI follows the current Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment guidelines and the All Appropriate Inquiry Standards for each Phase I Environmental Assessment. Each Phase I assessment includes copies of the local building permit files, City Directories, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, historical aerial photographs and historical topographic maps. In addition, SECI conducts interviews with both maintenance personnel and current property owners providing the client with the most accurate historical picture of the property.
Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
SECI has conducted Phase II investigations on a wide variety of properties ranging from former gasoline service stations, manufacturing facilities (dealing with heavy metal and solvent contamination), a steel mill, a former Nike missile base, a fertilizer and surfactants manufacturing facility with low-level radioactive contamination and numerous other industrial properties.
Preliminary Site Evaluations (PSE)
Would you prefer a low-cost alternative to a Phase I investigation? Try our Preliminary Site Evaluation (PSE) for smaller commercial loans that do not require a complete Phase I assessment. Schrack Environmental’s PSE involves a site inspection and environmental records search of the subject property to provide a baseline environmental evaluation of a commercial property. The PSE is similar to the “Mini Phase I” format utilized by Chase Bank and other large lenders.
Soil Sampling, Water Sampling and Waste Characterization
Schrack Environmental Consulting, Inc. (SECI) will evaluate your site, collect environmental soil and/or groundwater samples for analysis and provide you with the documentation necessary to determine if your suspect materials need to be disposed of as clean waste, special waste or hazardous waste.
Soil Vapor Sampling
SECI has successfully completed over 20 soil vapor surveys and has obtained No Further Remediation letters for sites based on the results of the Soil vapor surveys conducted on the subject properties.
Sub Slab Depressurization Systems
Schrack Environmental Consulting, Inc. (SECI) has successfully designed and installed Sub – Slab Depressurization Systems for the control of soil vapor gas exposure in occupied buildings. The Sub – Slab Depressurization Systems are installed in accordance with the TACO Indoor Inhalation Regulations.
